BIRTHS On March 15, Dixie Chick Natalie Maines, 26, and actor hubby Adrian Pasdar (Mysterious Ways), 35, hatched 6-pound son Jackson Slade, their first child.

EXPECTING Actress Mimi Rogers (The Geena Davis Show), 45, and producer Chris Ciaffa, 36, are expecting the stork in August. The former Mrs. Tom Cruise and Ciaffa also have a daughter, Lucy, 6.

SPLITS On March 16, actress Louise Hoogstraten-Bogdanovich (Noises Off), 32, filed for divorce from her director hubby of 12 years, Peter Bogdanovich (The Last Picture Show), 61, citing irreconcilable differences. The helmer, who has a recurring role on The Sopranos as Lorraine Bracco’s psychiatrist, was previously married to producer Polly Platt (Say Anything) and once dated Louise’s sister, slain Playboy centerfold Dorothy Stratten.

COURTS On March 15, lawyers for Robert Downey Jr., 35, told a Palm Springs, Calif., judge that they could not reach a plea bargain with prosecutors on the actor’s drug-possession charges. Downey was arrested last November when police allegedly discovered cocaine and Valium in his hotel room. A hearing was set for April 30. Downey faces a trial and, if convicted, up to five years in jail. His spokesman says the legal matter will not affect his work on Ally McBeal…. Say a little prayer for him. On March 19, retro-hip songwriter Burt Bacharach, 71, and his wife, Jane, filed a $15 million suit against the owners of an Indianapolis theater where he claims he fell and fractured his shoulder last April due to an uneven floor. Defendants Melvin Simon and Associates declined to comment…. O brother, where art thy pants? R&B singer Cedric Hailey, 31, of the smooth sibling act K-Ci & JoJo, was charged March 12 in L.A. with misdemeanor charges of indecent exposure and lewd conduct. Hailey (a.k.a. K-Ci) allegedly dropped trou at a December 2000 concert. A spokeswoman for the singer had no comment…. Interior designer Jack Deamer claims that Will & Grace creators Max Mutchnick and David Kohan jacked him around — and he filed suit March 15 against them and NBC. Deamer, reportedly Mutchnick’s longtime friend, says that he’s the model for Sean Hayes’ outrageous character Jack McFarland — and that he has yet to receive the car and house Mutchnick promised him for his contribution. He also claims his persona was presented ”in a skewed and essentially demeaning fashion.” Deamer seeks unspecified damages and an injunction barring NBC from airing episodes of the sitcom featuring Jack. NBC had no comment…. It appears Olivia Newton-John, 52, got her palms greased. On March 9, the Aussie entertainer’s record company, On-J Productions, settled a dispute with Universal Music Group over royalties from the Grease soundtrack. Terms were not disclosed. On-J claimed in a 1999 suit that UMG owed Newton-John $150,000 in royalties for using her name and likeness on the album cover…. Ribald rapper Eminem (ne Marshall Bruce Mathers III), 27, and estranged wife Kim Mathers, 26, have reached a preliminary agreement in their separation, says her lawyer. They’ll have joint custody of their daughter, Hailie Jade, 5. And Kim, who filed for divorce March 1, will receive $475,000 to buy a new home…. Obsessive Pamela Anderson fan Christine Roth, 27, wasn’t given the V.I.P. treatment in a Malibu, Calif., courtroom March 15, after she pleaded guilty to misdemeanor trespassing at the buxom blond’s house. Roth, found sleeping at Anderson’s pad March 4, was sent back to her native France for counseling.
