If you programmed a computer to create a modern-rock radio band, it would spit out something like Oleander. These Sacramento guitar slingers traverse the same melodic ground as matchbox twenty and Creed, churning out straightforward songs built on dramatic vocals and booming riffs. Problem is, there’s nothing as striking as matchbox’s ”Bent” or obnoxiously catchy as Creed’s ”Wide Open.” C
