Even stars spoiled by flashy designer freebies need sensible shoes when wintry weather hits. Perhaps that’s why the likes of Tom Cruise, Bruce Willis, Jay-Z, George Clooney, and those frisky college coeds on Felicity are making cozy-chic Salomon Snowclogs the four-wheel footwear of choice. The men’s and women’s waterproof suede slip-ons (along with their lighter leather counterparts, Powderclogs) are lined with thermal fleece, have serious treads for traction, and come in funky colors like orange, eggplant, and pistachio. They embody that ”perfect mix of fashion-forward attitude and comfort,” says Laura Thorpe of the Sundance Catalog Company (sundance catalog.com), who reports that the clogs have become best-selling items since their introduction to the film fest’s catalog in 1998. Also available at retail outlets like Nordstrom and L.L. Bean, the chunky apres-ski shoes cost about $65 — guaranteeing that no one will be left out in the cold.
