Along with the blue eyeliner, hip belts, and metal bangles spotted on the catwalks, one of the more palatable ’80s fashion faux pas to rear its kitschy head is the concert pin. Reproductions featuring Greed Decade mainstays like Duran Duran and the Cure are selling out at Urban Outfitters, while the real deals are the item du jour at thrift stores. Designers like Stella McCartney, Luella Bartley, and Sonia Rykiel went pin crazy in their latest collections. ”It’s very punk and rock & roll to wear band buttons,” says Annie Younger, head designer of Paul Frank Sportswear (Selma Blair and Rushmore‘s Jason Schwartzman are fans). ”They say [trends that] come around every 10 to 20 years come back,” says Jeannine Braden, owner of Flair at Fred Segal Santa Monica. ”It’s inevitable.” Let’s just hope the Coreys don’t get any ideas.
