The new year started off with a bang for Lifetime as its distaff-cops drama, The Division, with Bonnie Bedelia and Nancy McKeon, chalked up the biggest debut in the network’s history, placing 11th with 2.4 million households. Also ranking high were USA’s airings of the Harrison Ford-Anne Heche romantic comedy Six Days, Seven Nights (1st and 4th) and a trio of episodes from A&E’s New Year’s Day Law & Order marathon. On pay cable, the season opener of HBO’s prison drama Oz finished 3rd, behind the network’s premiere of the Oliver Stone football flick Any Given Sunday (1st). Meanwhile, Maury Povich continues to climb the syndication chart, as his self-titled show (9th) now trails only the mighty Oprah (4th) in the chat field.
