Snatch (2000)

type
  • Movie

Snatch director (and Madonna hubby) Guy Ritchie has assembled an eclectic batch of tunes from a variety of genres, including blissed-out electronica (Mirwais’ ”Disco Science”), old-school funk (Bobby Byrd’s ”Hot Pants (I’m Coming, Coming, I’m Coming”), and skewed pop-reggae (10cc’s ”Dreadlock Holiday”). The finished product plays like a cool mix tape of left-field delights compiled by a music-savvy buddy. Heck, you can even forgive Ritchie for including his new missus’ hoary ”Lucky Star.” B+
