”You Stole My Bell” is Elvis Costello’s most disappointing soundtrack contribution since his theme for Party Party; it’s as if he wanted to pen a more accessible than usual ballad, then left it sounding like a demo. A more effectively mawkish appeal to romanticism-in-flux comes with Seal’s ”This Could Be Heaven.” Mostly, though, this is an oldies set, ranging from the sublime (the Delfonics’ ”La-La Means I Love You”) to the ridiculous (Mr. Big’s ”To Be With You”? Is the Japanese market that important?) to the sublimely ridiculous (Mocedades’ ”Eres Tu”).
