Even a babe in dungeonland can see that the only real fire-breather in this malty brew of heroics and minutiae — the first live-action adaptation of the phenomenally successful 28-year-old fantasy role-playing game — isn’t a computer-generated monster, but Jeremy Irons as the archvillain Profion. He howls, whispers, rages, and struts around while mages, commoners, elves, and dwarfs do their obsessive D&D thing.
