Dude, where was the inspiration for this sorry excuse for a soundtrack? Mostly, this disc feels lost in the ’90s, veering from unfunny alt-rock novelty songs (Zebrahead’s ”Playmate of the Year,” LiveonRelease’s ”I’m Afraid of Britney Spears”) to generic alt-rock, via Harvey Danger and Grand Theft Audio. And when it hits the tired ’80s nostalgia of Young MC’s ”Bust a Move,” it’s clear the whole enterprise has run out of gas.
