Santana’s former label continues to plumb his back catalog with The Best of Santana, Volume 2. Since both volumes cover his Columbia years (1969-90), there are some redundancies (like live recordings of ”Black Magic Woman” and ”Europa,” which were included on the first disc in studio versions). And a 1978 cover of ”Stormy” is more like a drizzle. Still, fusion-era suites like ”Toussaint L’Overture” rank among Carlos’ finest work. B
