Gossip, a potboiler about a journalism class project gone criminally wrong, is a dim-bulb Shallow Grave for the club-kid set. Three college students sharing a fabulous loft and vengeful tendencies cook up a scheme to monitor the spread of a nasty rumor, but the teen-thriller plot doesn’t have twists so much as a short attention span. Understandably, the young lookers of the cast (including Kate Hudson and Joshua Jackson) hit the high-end cocktails at every chance. The point? Booze good; slander bad. Cheers! D
