Music Review: 'Milk Cow Blues'
Willie Nelson’s mellow, nonchalant voice can adapt to many genres, but the blues isn’t one of them. Milk Cow Blues, an anemic amble through standards and Nelson classics, all arranged as supper-club blues, requires a vocal urgency Nelson doesn’t have. The problem’s also made glaringly evident by the oversinging of his duet partners, from Susan Tedeschi to Jonny Lang. Willie and friends amount to little more than the snooze brothers. C
