Footnotes on camp. Steve Yeager’s celebration of John Waters’ Pink Flamingos — the brilliantly vile cult classic — doesn’t even try to address Waters as a director. Rather, Divine Trash glorifies that mustachioed smoothie for his underground producing moxie: his devotion, his ”vision”, his calculated blasphemy. Pink Flamingos‘ 300-pound starlet remains a bit opaque, even if Waters does offer a compelling analogy between her and Godzilla. B
