CLAIM TO FAME Hollywood’s newest kid du jour

WHY Since his tear-jerking performance as The Cider House Rules‘ ailing Fuzzy (”I’ve seen the movie five times!”), he’s been spotted as the constantly bullied Dewey on Fox’s Malcolm in the Middle and had a role in the pilot of ABC’s just-pulled Wonderland.

FIRST BIG BREAK Armageddon. ”I played an extra. Remember that scene where the kids are running around with rocket ships? I was one of those.”

FAVORITE ACTING TIP From master thesp Michael Caine: ”At the death scene, right before Fuzzy died, [Michael] said to give a little smile.”

IN HIS SPARE TIME He holds a tae kwon do black belt and plays soccer. ”I like watching hockey, but I’m not too good at it.”

NEXT UP Windigo, a horror movie starring High Art‘s Patricia Clarkson, and a second season of Malcolm.
