In this slack Twain adaptation (more Shania than Mark), a feline Tom (Akins) runs afoul of the villainous Injurin’ Joe (Williams), whose murderous deeds managed to survive the PC sanitizing that changed Samuel Clemens’ bitter Native American criminal into an inexplicably evil grizzly. While tots may tolerate the sweatshop-quality animation and gratuitous pratfalls, they’ll likely squirm during the mud-simple songs by Akins and fellow Nashville crooners. C-
