Pity the poor Brits — it’s been eight long years since Reservoir Dogs and they’re still releasing bloody, boring knockoffs. In this one (made in ’97), the fierce and always-riveting Carlyle stars as a nice-guy hood whose big score goes to hell via double-cross, violence, and murder. Does he keep the girl? Will he reclaim the money? Who’s the cop snitch? Director Antonia Bird’s (Priest) treatment is so warmed-over, you know the answers even before the questions have been asked. C+
