Both exhilarating and exasperating, this overly lush set finds Brazil’s greatest singer mining the stylings of his youth on material ranging from bossa nova fave ”Mas que Nada” to the Platters’ ”Only You.” Nascimento’s vocal magic triumphs over the slick production, but ill-conceived takes on ”Beat It” and ”Ooh Child” are for the staunch of heart.
