In Dick, history repeats itself as farce. Schoolgirls Dunst and Williams ignorantly happen upon the Watergate break-in, chance into a gig as Richard Nixon’s dog walkers, and ultimately leak that scandal’s clinching details to a couple of Washington Post reporters. The film — an extended teenybop gag for adults — is cluttered with silly twists and empty allusions; its premise alone is lunacy aplenty.

Reel Goodies The girls make their first call to Woodward and Bernstein (”Saturday Night Live”’s Will Ferrell and ”Kids in the Hall”’s Bruce McCulloch, who play them like Abbott and Costello). The Last Detail Director Andrew Fleming’s previous take on high school high jinks was ”The Craft.”
