Stallone sells Miami home

Sylvester Stallone may be approaching retirement age, but he’s moving out of Florida. After buying the house in 1993 for $8 million, the 53-year-old action star spent about $12 million to completely overhaul it.
The over-the-top result: a neoclassical main house (think: pillars, lots of marble, and frescoes of clouds) with a 10,000-bottle wine cellar, ballroom, library, screening room, and two fitness gyms. The house sits on 11.7 lush acres that include three guest houses, a swimming pool, waterfalls, ponds, a moat, and a pistol range. Built in 1971 and three doors from Madonna’s manse, the house was bought by a local builder, who’s paying $5 million less than a London hotel chain offered last year. Stallone lost that deal when Madonna rallied with her neighbors against the hotelier’s plans to turn the estate into a small resort. Stallone and family (wife Jennifer Flavin and their two young daughters) relocated last year to a 16,000-square-foot Beverly Hills house that reportedly cost $10 million.
