House-music purists will call Everything but the Girl’s latest, ”Temperamental,” watered-down, but pop fans will appreciate the way Watt loosens house’s relentless thud. And if EBTG are broadening the appeal of an underground sound — well, that’s how music develops, isn’t it? B+
