An unexceptional coming-of-age story about a working-class kid in Rhode Island (Shawn Hatosy) who does penny-ante, pot-dumb things. (It’s based on an old autobiographical first novel by Dumb & Dumber cocreator Peter Farrelly, but don’t go looking for belly laughs.) For verisimilitude as the kid’s gruff dad, Alec Baldwin talks with a ripe Rhode Island accent, swigs beer, and calls his son Dildo. C-
