We gave it a C+

The follow-up to 1997’s Grammy-winning Fabulosos Calavera finds the party-friendly sextet from Argentina in an unusually wistful mood. From the laid-back bossa beats to the sudden outbursts of muted trumpets to poi-gnant references to tango mystique, the 13 tracks on La Marcha del Golazo Solitario are steeped in Latin American nostalgia, with a postmodern touch. A quietly seductive box of mood pop dreams. Fabulous indeed.
