If Jordan Knight wants to herald a life after New Kids, he makes his case with the single ”Give It to You”: With its sandpaper rhythms and smart touches by producers Jam and Lewis (is that an accordion?), it’s a wiry R&B Slinky. Alas, Knight sounds like just another kid on the block on the rest of his solo debut. His voice is well-bred but bland, there’s an over-reliance on samples (”Dust in the Wind”?!) and remakes (including a dull, supper-club-slow-jam version of Prince’s ”I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man”), and the buttery production smothers any trace of soul. C+
