Next Generation fans might be captivated by this latest sequel, but if you’re only a casual Trekker you’ll feel a little disoriented, as if you forgot to read your Roddenberry Cliffs Notes. You’ll grasp that Picard and crew are trying to save a beleaguered extraterrestrial community, in a story punctuated by shipboard romance and Data’s consternation over the whole emotion thing.
