Before his 1961 conviction for torturing and murdering his wife, fiddler/bandleader Spade Cooley was best known for popularizing the term ”Western swing” and for practically owning the genre (with Bob Wills) in the post-WWII era. Shame on You contains previously unreleased radio performances feature 25 songs, including his first big hit, ”Shame on You.” Cooley was on the corny side of country, but the warm, urbane vocals of Tex Williams save the day.
