Who said you can’t take it with you? With the Empeg Car Player, you can finally pull those MP3 tunes off your computer and take them on the road, playing up to 500 albums of rim-rocking music. Starting at $999 (plus shipping), the players don’t come cheap, and the Somerset, England-based Empeg ( was still struggling to get units to customers in mid-March. But with about 6,000 preregistrations, geeks around the world clearly can’t wait. According to the Empeg website, you can arrange your playlists “to suit your mood, destination, shirt, new haircut, or even the weather.” Now about that waterproof MP3 player for the shower…
