Those eager to bury the nouveau horror can use this junky slash-by-numbers sequel as a gravestone. A dearth of originality finds the first film’s survivors, Julie (Hewitt) and Ray (Freddie Prinze Jr.), again battling the hook-wielding, slow-as-molasses fisherman/killer, this time on a stormy tropical island (for that ”Key Largo” feeling and an abundance of wet tees). The shrill heroines scream, the story is basically hide-and-seek, and what seemed a smart, fresh revival three years ago with ”Scream” appears to have devolved faster than usual; now teens are just thrown into the villain’s path like so much chum. But as surely as ”Still Know” has false endings, the genre will never die, despite dreck like this.
