The Skinny: What Every Skinny Woman Knows About Dieting (and Won't Tell You!)

type
  • Book

Dedicated to Aunt Jemima, Sara Lee, Colonel Sanders, Ben & Jerry…and of course Twiggy, this brazenly neurotic guide to getting thin doesn’t pretend for an instant breakfast that it’s good for you. Instead, comedy writer Marx and ”food taster” Sistrom (reportedly a pseudonym for New Yorker writer Susan Orlean) espouse depression, traveling to a Third World country, and ephedrines as ways to lose weight. For the truly obsessive, they list the calories lurking in toothpaste, stamps, and Midol. Proudly incorrect (and borderline disturbing), The Skinny tips the scales in favor of amusement. B
