De-pouffed hair. Understated eyes. Fab concealer. Monica Lewinsky — as seen on 20/20 and the cover of Monica’s Story — has never looked better. So who’s responsible for the transformation? Primpers are quibbling over who originated the look. Lewinsky hired Club Monaco Cosmetics creative consultant Denise Markey and hairstylist Richard Keogh for her TV appearance. But the first version of a toned-down Monica was created in December for the book cover by hairstylist Harry King and makeup artist Tatijana Suljic-Shoan. ”Her hair needed a lot of taming,” dishes tress veteran King, who says that Lewinsky’s locks on 20/20 ”didn’t move.” Suljic-Shoan says the former intern was leery of minimal makeup — ”she’s used to having heavier eyes, thicker eyeliner” — but Lewinsky ended up loving her cleaner countenance. ”The look she had for [December’s] Vanity Fair was stylized, and I wanted to do the opposite,” says Suljic-Shoan. ”I didn’t want anything tongue-in-cheek.” A wise choice.
