If millennium fever doesn’t already have you in knots, here’s another ticking clock to fuel your anxiety. Countdown: The Ultimate Fan Site monitors the days, hours, minutes, and seconds remaining until Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace hits theaters, as well as breathlessly anticipating such films as Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, and the untitled fourth Indiana Jones movie. The agony of waiting is cranked up by message boards, pictures, and polls (”Who should play Boba Fett?”). Constructed by fans for fans, the site offers as much rumor as fact (will Kevin Costner play Indy’s evil brother?), yet gives the hype an unassuming spin thanks to editors who post vacation photos among starstruck musings. It’s like camping out for tickets in your Princess Leia costume — but without the public humiliation. B+
