Toy Story 2 returns at Thanksgiving -- Tim Allen and Tom Hanks reunite in the newest Pixar-Disney animated film

PROJECT Hot off A Bug’s Life, Pixar and Disney resurrect Tom Hanks as Woody and Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story 2, opening at Thanksgiving.
THE DETAILS Woody gets kidnapped by a greedy toy collector, and Buzz &amp the gang have to steal him back.
AT STAKE For Pixar, a healthier share of profits (50 percent versus 12.5 percent) than it got on the first Toy Story.
THE LIGHTYEAR BUZZ The flick was meant to go directly to video but was upgraded to feature status last February. Disney’s official explanation was that the film is ”so damn good,” but published accounts credit Pixar CEO Steve Jobs with pushing for a big-screen run because it means much larger revenues in every arena — especially tie-in merchandise, the appeal of which Disney seriously underestimated the first time around.
