The Parent Trap remake reproduces much from the 1961 Hayley Mills vehicle about twins reuniting their divorced parents. Trouble is, the original wasn’t much to begin with — alternately sweet-natured and insipid — and too long. This version offers a cosmetic updating and an even looser grip on reality (when the twins — the digitally doubled Lohan — square off for a fencing match, they cavort about like little Jackie Chans). Kids, though, may respond to the girls’ manipulation of adults by means of Hollywood processed sass. C+
