Few post-supergroup lead-vocalist experiments ring as hollow and ill-advised as the flaccid solo work of Steve Perry. Within the crafty ranks of Journey, he rose to ”Infinity”/”Evolution” heights. Alone, his Greatest Hits sink like a stone, weighted by knucklehead concepts like the repeat-times-one-hundred chorus of ”Oh Sherrie” or the tinny operatics of ”Against the Wall.” At least he had nice feathered hair.
