Spice Girls fans get your keyboards and modems ready: Virgin Records is hosting a live chat with Sporty (Mel C) and Baby (Emma) Spice Wednesday morning. Fans from around the world can log on to the Virgin Records website to access the 11:30 a.m. (EST) chat with the Spicy duo. For those who can’t skip school to surf the Web, take heart: The Spice Girls’ concert video “Live at Wembley” hits stores Nov. 24, and their next single, “Goodbye,” comes out Dec. 1.

While the girly Fab Four get ready to cyber-talk with their fans, ex-Spice Ginger (Geri Halliwell) is preparing for an appointment as goodwill ambassador to the United Nations. The U.N. Population Fund will officially induct Halliwell, 26, later this week in Britain. As part of her diplomatic duties, Halliwell, who left the Spice Girls in May, will travel across Europe campaigning for “reproductive health.” With her cleavage-bearing, platforms-wearing background, Halliwell is perhaps the only ambassador who’s also an action figure.
