The Beastie Boys have always been indie minded, with their own label and sidelines in a clothing store and a Tibetan activist organization — and now their own website (http://www.beastieboys.com). The intergalactic vibe online stays true to the spirit of their new record, Hello Nasty. Through a kitschy space-station interface, fans can search through an exhaustive discography (just when was ”Brass Monkey” released anyway?) or listen to regularly updated audio snippets from the current tour. It’s also a good way to touch base with other fans through message boards and chat. Still, the ship feels a bit uninhabited; too bad the Boys don’t drop by more often to leave word for visiting astronauts. B+
