Baited with a spooky, previously unreleased Pearl Jam ballad (”Hard to Imagine”), this is a typically mixed bag of tunes, ranging from sublime (the Grifters’ ”Radio City Suicide”) to ridiculous (Joey Altruda’s ”Cha Cha #69”) to sublimely ridiculous (Fu Manchu’s ”Swami’s Last Command”). Still, Cab hangs together better than most soundtracks, with the bulk of its tunes steeped in a brooding, Vedder-like absorption that makes it a decent late-night platter for post-grunge blues sufferers.
