After playing a sweet Southern schoolteacher in “Why Do Fools Fall in Love,” Lela Rochon shows off her versatility as a leather-clad martial-arts vixen in “Knockoff,” Jean-Claude Van Damme’s new Hong Kong thriller, which opens today. To play the physically challenging role, Rochon (a regular kickboxer) had to learn the subtle art of stagefighting. “I was a big tomboy and thought I could handle all of these physical things, and then I realized it’s really a lot of choreography,” the actress says of the gracefully staged action scenes opposite her Belgian co-star. “Fighting with another person is like dancing.”
