A thoroughly superficial movie about superficiality, in which writer-director Tom DiCillo (Living in Oblivion) scores lazy satirical points off of such easy targets as soap operas, music videos, glossy magazine ads, and women who — you might wanna sit down for this one — dye their hair. The relationship between lovers Modine and Keener, which is clearly intended as counterpoint to the artifice that surrounds, is as phony as everything else. C
