What: The shiny construction worker’s lunch box that Sandra Bullock carried as a handbag in Hope Floats. How it got there: She and director Forest Whitaker were inspired by Hope production designer Larry Fulton, who carries his camera around in a Smurf lunch box. The reject: Property master Kirk Corwin scoured swap meets for Partridge Family-era boxes. He thought he found the perfect one for a fading beauty queen—an early-’70s Miss America model. But Bullock suggested that her character carry her ailing father’s lunch box. Will it replace the Prada sac? Not likely, but the fashion feverish can get an authentic one at Restoration Hardware stores, located around the country. Price: $23.95 to $29.95, depending on size.
