There are more layers of intrigue in this tale of Mafia revenge than there are layers of cheese in lasagna. The magnanimous Redgrave won a Golden Globe nomination for her fiery turn as Graziella, the Luciano clan matriarch who goes from supportive wife to hell-bent widow when she rallies her daughters-in-law to take arms against their husbands’ killers. The rest of Bella Mafia feels like Godfather leftovers, since the fresh twist of Mafia wives ruthlessly carrying on the family biz doesn’t kick in until two-thirds of the way through. But tasty performances by Redgrave et al. make this condensed CBS TV movie, which aired last November, as irresistible as tiramisu. B
