If there’s any middle ground between Soundgarden and matchbox 20, Fuel’s got it covered. Boasting a slick stack of tunes with surprising versatility (the first single, the Dave Matthews-ish ditty ”Shimmer,” is one of the mellowest cuts), Sunburn radiates with brutish guitar stylings and familiar yet contagious choruses. Could these guys be the next Bush? Nah, let’s think positively. B+
