In this perfunctory Showtime adaptation of the Elmore Leonard novel, Falk’s septuagenarian bookie Harry Arno leads his ex-stripper girlfriend (Headly), a Mafia hitman (Sergio Castellitto), and a U.S. marshal (LeGros) on a merry chase through Miami’s South Beach that ends up in Italy, where he plans to retire on his skimmings. Sadly, Falk seems too tired to talk and button his cardigan at the same time, let alone stay one step ahead of his pursuers. Still, Headly, likably understated as the faded siren, and Castellitto’s smug killer do lend verve. The video box invokes the whip-smart Leonard adaptation Get Shorty. In truth, Pronto‘s more like a Gray Panther version of Where’s Waldo? C-
