On this set of 14 live cuts from 1988 to ’92, the Grateful Dead’s erstwhile guitarist teams with former Lou Reed bassist Wasserman for what amounts to a bare-bones Dead show, including unplugged readings of that band’s “Looks Like Rain” and an eclectic mix of covers. Despite Wasserman’s athletic work on Peggy Lee’s “Fever” and Willie Dixon’s bluesy “Eternity,” there’s still too much aimless noodling on Live to make any grateful converts. C
