As a follow-up to Leonard Cohen’s 1975 anthology, this sequel should have dipped into the five erratic but gem-strewn studio albums he’s made since. Instead, this woefully inadequate sampler focuses on The Future and I’m Your Man, omitting mid-period (and midlife) ruminations like ”True Love Leaves No Traces” and ”Came So Far for Beauty.” Of the two new tracks on More Best Of, the apocalyptic recitation ”The Great Event” somewhat compensates for the startlingly generic rock of ”Never Any Good.” B-
