Scoff if you will, but this Greatest Hits from the king of lite jazz is a testament to the joy of unadorned melody. Tunes like ”The Moment” and ”Forever in Love” are simple — if somewhat gooey — showcases for G’s giddy sax work. Surprisingly, the weakest spots are duets with Toni Braxton (the tepid ”How Could an Angel Break My Heart”) and Michael Bolton (a leaden cover of ”You Send Me”), whose histrionics reduce the G-man to a sideman.
