ABC’s medical drama Marcus Welby, M.D., with Robert Young, tops the season’s TV shows. Among its directors is Steven Spielberg, who also directed episodes of Columbo, Night Gallery, and Owen Marshall: Counselor at Law before making his big-screen breakthrough.
Erich Segal‘s weepy Love Story remains the nation’s hottest novel. A month later, the film version, with Ali MacGraw and Ryan O’Neal, will premiere in New York, spawning millions of posters of the beautiful, tragic couple with their slogan ”Love means never having to say you’re sorry.”
