Movie Review: 'Twin Town'

The existence of Twin Town must pain the tourism bureau of Swansea, South Wales: If we’re to believe the evidence presented here, every one of its inhabitants is an immoral, unsavory lout. A tale of escalating revenge between a handyman’s sadistic sons and a local contractor, the film begins as a puerile comedy — the ”highlight” finds the boys urinating on a woman singing ”I Will Survive” at a karaoke bar — then metamorphoses into an ugly parade of offbeat violence. There’s no law stating that a movie must feature at least one likable character, but if everyone’s equally despicable, the picture had better be either damn funny or damn insightful. Rent Trainspotting again instead. D+
