On film, these campy disco and rock tunes (Donna Summer’s ”Hot Stuff”) make a wry comment on Robert Carlyle and company’s lumpy Chippendale aspirations. Stripped of that context, though, they’re simply a bunch of overly familiar retreads. The only exceptions are the Dylanish glam of ”Make Me Smile” (by the woefully overlooked Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel) and the gruff swagger of Tom Jones’ ”You Can Leave Your Hat On,” which perfectly encapsulates The Full Monty‘s raffishly skewed humor.
