Earth, Wind, & Fire’s fluid blend of percussion, horns, and soul harmonies in In the Name of Love remains impressive; Philip Bailey’s falsetto vocals are buttery; and rap beats and robot vocals add a ’90s touch. But after a few cuts, the up-tempo funk power tails off into ballad schmaltz, silly paeans to ”revolution,” and embarrassing R. Kelly-style explicit- ness. B-
