Fools Rush In is a sitcom premise if ever there was one: A terminally Anglo-Saxon workaholic falls for a fiery Latina beauty who — stop me if you’ve already heard this one — inspires passion, teaches him a thing or two about diversity, and enlightens him to the folly of working too hard. Matthew Perry has an introvert’s mannerisms that don’t read in cinemas, but as fans of Chandler Bing will attest, they can be fuzzy-warm and charming on the tube. As for Salma Hayek, this movie could just as easily be hers. True to stereotype, where Perry’s brittle shtick threatens to leave a vacuum, the likable, sexy Mexican rushes in and breathes life. B
